Our First major event for this semester will be a night of laserforce at sidetracked. It will be a great night of lighthearted frivolity as we run around blasting the crap out of each other with lasers. It’s well worth the lack of sleep. Date: 7th to the 8th of August (that's Saturday night into Sunday) Time: 11:30pm to 6:00 am Where: Sidetracked in Huntingdale (370 Huntingdale Road South, South Oakleigh) Cost: Its $30 for the full night of laserforce. Kailun is already accepting payments for more information and any questions you may have check out the fb event below or the forums http://forum.claytonanime.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1273 http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=132262403477337 |

Date: Sunday 14th March (this Sunday) Time: 9am - 5pm Cost: FREE (except for public transport costs + lunch money) Location: Meet up at Federation Square by the Information Booth (it's directly in front of the Flinders Street Station / Federation Square Pedestrian Crossing) What to bring: Firstly you must ensure that you wear sensible clothing that is comfortable and (this is necessary) something you're able to RUN in (so sneakers rather than high heels). Girls should make sure they DO NOT wear a skirt or dress. You might also consider a jacket and an umbrella in case the weather turns bad (but it shouldn't according to the forecasts) You will also require either a Digital Camera or a Phone which has a Camera function (it will be needed for some of the tasks). Make sure also to bring along a Metcard for city travel and some money for Lunch (or a prepared Lunch if you prefer =D). Bear in mind that it is an after Scavenger Hunt tradition to go out for dinner as well, so you might wanna bring along some money for that. What will be provided: You'll be given a coloured cloth to identify your team, a map of Melbourne and the contact details of Committee members and Team Leaders (in case you get lost). You will also be provided with clues throughout the course of the Scavenger Hunt. Your Team Leader will have a list of their team members names and a basic schedule of proceedings if you get stuck. You will meet your Team Leader and the other members of your Team when you arrive at 9am (in otherwords, we aren't releasing this information beforehand). How to sign up: If you didn't sign up for the Scavenger Hunt today at screenings then don't panic! Just reply to this email and tell us your name and we'll add you to the list. IMPORTANT: If you have only registered interest on the Forum Thread and haven't actually signed up, you will not be placed on a team. Teams will be finalised by Friday, so make sure you register before then! If you still turn up on the day of the Scavenger Hunt without letting us know you'll still be placed in a team (we'd just rather know beforehand). The forum thread can be found here: http://forum.claytonanime.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=971 Don't hesitate to ask any questions you have about the Scavenger Hunt there. And as always, I'll happily answer any queries sent my way at my personal email (

2010-2011 Annual General Meeting
Date: Wednesday 14th April* Time: 12.00pm-2pm* Location: Japanese Studies Centre
*dates are subject to change at the moment.
So what exactly is the AGM? Basically it is the biggest official meeting of the MCAC, where the committee reports on club matters over their term and, probably of the most interest to you guys, the time when members CHOOSE WHO WILL BE IN THE NEXT COMMITTEE. To be eligible for a committee postion you must:
a.) be a student of Monash University b.) your primary campus must be Clayton c.) you must be an under-graduate
The committee, for thoose who don;t know, are the body responsible for the running, organising and control of all events within the club. They have regular meetings to discuss this and therefore must be readily available and dedicated. The committee for 2010-2011 will feature SEVEN positions once again. To become a candidate...
Please submit to me (via forum or email) the following...
Full Name Position
All candidates will be expected to prepare a TWO (2) minute speech for the AGM. Your attendance at the AGM WILL be required. The speech should generaly answer the question: "Why are you the best candidate for the position?". The AGM is SELF-NOMINATIONS. |

Greetings in this wonderful new year fellow Montakus (both old and new). Just letting everyone know about events upcoming in the first few weeks of semester so that you can all prepare your timetables and schedules accordingly! From Tuesday 23rd to Thursday 25th of February the MCAC will be present at the Clubs and Societies Carnival advertising our asses off. Make sure you drop by and join up! ($10 fee, only $5 if you have a current Culture Card). You can't miss us, we'll have the table cluttered with figurines, posters and related anime nick-nacks. Then, on Wednesday 3rd of March we will be holding our first event. A welcoming BBQ for all our members at a venue yet to be determined. Come along to meet up with like-minded individuals, discuss anime an d, most importantly, EAT FREE FOOD lovingly prepared by your hard-working committee. On the following Wednesday, we shall begin our weekly Anime Screenings (what will we show..? for now its still a surprise! Well, mostly because we haven't put much thought into screeningsseeing as we were on holiday and all... but suspense sounds better than laziness). So from 1pm-2pm come drop by the JSC (most likely) and indulge your otakuness. Then (yes there's more... because the MCAC prides itself on all its super awesome events!) we shall hold another Scavenger Hunt in the Melbourne CBD on Sunday 14th March. Further details to come later. So yea. First of many updates to come. Look out for them! |
